After 15 years as missionaries in Argentina, a 29th of April of 2014, we arrived
to Puerto Rican soil; 2 adults, 3 children and 5 suitcases. Our hearts full of dreams, expectations, plans and projects from the Lord; we came to stay.
We walked every day, regardless of the sun or rain; streets and roads, the five of us, looking for the perfect place in the heart of God to establish the Base. It was a search time in which our children were and are part of it.
Every time we parked in front of a vacant property we wanted to hear the voice of God, and we valued what God spoke to our hearts.
“No, Dad, this is not the one¨, “no, I don’t like it” … Until one day, after a dream that showed us a place, we heard their little voices: “Mom, here is it, this is the one I like … ¨
We remember that went to the place out of curiosity. We remembered that we had been in that place years ago. We went in obedience to the image seen in a dream where God told us: “Is here… ¨
We arrived and sure enough: a house with a huge “For Sale/For Rent” sign. We called the real estate agent and set up a date to see it, we saw it, we told her our proposal and she encouraged us to write it down and present it to the owners, who after a time to think about it, confirmed that they accepted our crazy proposal of living 6 months without rent payment in exchange for rehabilitating the house.
So from that detail, what they asked us for a deposit, and rent for each subsequent month, we saw God. We got the key and the first week of July 2014, we moved to what is now the first headquarters of Urban YWAM P.R.
From that moment, there’s a miracle every day, miracle after miracle. Friends of Cayey, Caguas, from other parts of Puerto Rico, known and unknown, and even our own families are part of this.
Thanks to our leaders and family Ituzaingó in Argentina, who supported us and helped in many ways, to YWAMers from the first YWAM base of Puerto Rico in Juncos, and many other people, finally, on the 13th of October 2014, we began operations in the New and first Urban YWAM Base of Puerto Rico, in San Juan.
God has been faithful and will remain so; for he who began the good work will complete it, He who calls us is faithful and he will also do it. God always keeps his promises and, the weaker I am, the stronger He is in me. He did, does and will continue to do.
God has given us a vision of growth and development to reach not only the island of Puerto Rico but the
nations, and to impact the different spheres of society with the values and foundations of His kingdom. Through various tools and strategies, always listening to the voice of the God who has called us, we long to keep walking towards a future of great dreams in Him.
